West Virginia Salesperson Licensing Education Requirements
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Provide proof of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Complete 90 hours of education within a 3 year period preceding the application. An original certificate of completion is required with application.
- Complete and pass national criminal history check before taking licensing examination.
- Submit an application for the exam online here. If approved, the candidate will be contacted via email by Pearson Vue to schedule the exam.
- Pass State and National Exam.
- Complete the online application and upload proof of exam results and Verification of Sponsoring Broker Form.
West Virginia Broker Licensing Education Requirements
- Be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have been licensed for a minimum of two (2) years as a salesperson.
- Complete National Criminal History Check.
- Complete 90 hours of Broker Licensing education.
- Submit an application for the exam online here. Upload official course completion certificates for Salesperson and Broker, valid driver’s license, Affidavit of Broker Recommendation, and Closed Transaction Form.
- If approved, the candidate will be contacted via email by Pearson Vue to schedule the exam.
Salesperson & Broker Continuing Education Requirements
- Every licensee shall complete seven hours of continuing professional education for each fiscal year, with each hour equaling 50 minutes of instruction.
- For brokers and associate brokers, three of the required seven hours shall be from the broker-level education curriculum approved by the commission.
- Upon application for the renewal of a real estate license on active status, each licensee shall furnish satisfactory evidence, as established by the commission, that he or she has completed seven hours of approved continuing professional education during the term of the previous license.
- To receive credit, the courses must be taken during the fiscal year preceding the fiscal year for which the licensee is applying for license renewal.
Exam Provider Information
- All examinations for West Virginia Real Estate require application to the West Virginia Real Estate Commission. Once the application is approved, the candidate will be given authorization to test via email from Pearson Vue.
