Salesperson Pre-Licensing Education Requirements
- Be 18 years old
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Complete 90-hour pre-licensing course
- Submit your completion certificate, Initial Salesperson License Application - Part A, and the required fee
- Receive email from Pearson Vue to schedule an exam and pay the exam fee after LREC processes your application

- Pass state and national exam after receiving Exam Authorization Form with information to provide to Pearson Vue. Authorization forms are valid for 90 days only
- Follow Salesperson Checklist to ensure following appropriate steps
- Be sponsored by licensed Real Estate Broker
- Provide proof of Errors and Omissions insurance prior to license issuance.
Broker Pre-Licensing Education Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have been actively licensed in any state/jurisdiction for at least 4 years, with 2 of the 4 immediately preceding application
- Successfully have completed 150 hours of education with at least 30 hours obtained in broker responsibilities.
- Submit your completion certificate, Initial Broker License Application-Part A and the required fee
- Receive email from Pearson Vue to schedule an exam and pay the exam fee after LREC processes your application.

Salesperson and Broker Post-Licensing Education Requirements
- Within 180 days of being licensed licensees are required to complete 45 hours of education, with subjects to include:
- Laws
- Rules and Regulations changes
- Finance
- Handling of funds
- Post-Licensing education may be used to qualify for 8 of the 12 hour education hours required to renew, but will not satisfy the 4 hour Mandatory topic course.
Salesperson and Broker Continuing Education Requirements
- Renewal periods are every year by December 31st
- Must complete 12 hours of education to include the 4 hours of Mandatory education annually.
- Education must be in the following topics:
- Laws
- Rules and regulations changes
- Finance
- Handling of Funds
Exam Provider Information
- Once applicants receive Exam Authorization Form, applicants must schedule and pass State and National Exam within 1 year.
- A passing exam score is good for one year.
