Endorsement and Reciprocity for Washington DC Salesperson Licenses
Washington DC makes it easy for licensed real estate professionals from other states to get licensed, either through endorsement or reciprocity:
Endorsement (all states except MD and VA):
- Available if your state’s licensing requirements meet or exceed 60 hours
- You still need to complete:
- 3-hour approved Fair Housing course
- 3-hour approved Property Management course
- 3-hour approved Fair Housing course
- Provide an original letter of license certification from your licensing jurisdiction dated within 90 days
- Pass the Washington DC state exam and apply for a DC salesperson license
- No need to meet the 60-hour pre-licensing requirement
- You must still complete:
- 3-hour approved Fair Housing course
- 3-hour approved Property Management course
- 3-hour approved Fair Housing course
- Provide an original letter of license certification from your licensing jurisdiction dated within 90 days
- Pass the Washington DC state exam and apply for a DC salesperson license within 6 months of passing the exam
