Oregon Fair Housing Required Course 2026-2027 (2-Credit Hours)

This required 2-hour continuing education course provides an in-depth analysis of state and federal fair housing laws. Examine the historical and systemic practices—such as redlining, blockbusting, and steering—that affected marginalized groups’ housing and wealth opportunities and shaped modern housing patterns. Gain a clear understanding of federal protected classes alongside Oregon’s expanded state protections, including source of income, marital status, gender identity, domestic violence survivor status, and SB 599 immigration provisions. Beyond statutory definitions, the curriculum equips you with practical skills to identify implicit bias, prevent disparate impact in tenant screening and advertising, properly navigate reasonable accommodations and modifications for persons with disabilities, and adhere to fair lending mandates. 

In addition, this course gives licensees a distinct advantage by breaking down complex real-world case studies and enforcement actions from HUD, BOLI, and OREA, giving you actionable safeguards to protect your business against unintentional liability. This course satisfies mandatory state continuing education requirements under ORS 696.174 for Oregon real estate licensees, brokers, principal brokers, and property managers renewing or reactivating their license.
