MREC Supervision (1.5-Credit Hours)
Satisfy Your 3-Hour Mandatory Broker Category I Continuing Education Requirement with This Interactive Online Course
This continuing education course satisfies the Maryland Real Estate Commission’s 3 credit hours requirement for the category I supervision class that all Maryland brokers, managers, and team leaders must take to renew their licenses.
The MREC Supervision course is designed to make brokers, branch office managers, and team leaders aware of their responsibilities to provide reasonable and adequate supervision of the activities that licensees doing business on behalf of the brokerage are engaged in.
This 3-hour course reviews who has this responsibility, what it means to provide reasonable and adequate supervision, and the consequences of failing to adequately provide this supervision. It clarifies the unique nature—on both a federal and state level—of a real estate broker’s responsibility to supervise those individuals providing real estate brokerage services on behalf of the broker, whether they are employees or independent contractors.
In addition, the course looks at how these supervisory responsibilities apply to various special issues, such as advertising regulations, teams, intracompany agency relationships, the proper handling of fees and deposits, and licensing requirements.
Most importantly, this course can be used as a guide in helping brokers design systems, policies, and procedures for their companies that will help ensure compliance with statutory regulations and a more profitable experience for all.
