Get EPA Lead-Safe Certified to Avoid Potential Fines!

The RRP program is a federal regulatory program affecting contractors, property managers, and others who disturb lead-based paint. This program was enacted by the EPA 2008 Lead Rule. After this rule became fully integrated in April 2010, the EPA has the ability to fine up to $37,500 per offense, per day to anyone who is not compliant. To learn more about how to become compliant, visit the how to obtain Lead-RRP Certification page.

This rule applies to anyone who is paid to perform work that disturbs paint in housing and child care facilities built before 1978, such as general contractors, residential rental property owners and managers, and special trade contractors, including:

 - Painters           - Carpenters         - Electricians

 - Plumbers        - Roofers               - HVAC Technicians

According to the EPA 2008 Lead Rule, anyone who disturbs greater than 20 square feet of lead-based paint on an exterior wall, or disturbs an area greater than 6 square feet of interior paint per room, needs to be trained in lead-safe work practices. To learn more about the 2008 lead rule, visit http://www2.epa.gov/lead.
