Salesperson Pre Licensing Education Requirements

• Be 18 years or older
  
• Be a United States citizen or lawfully admitted alien
  
• Provide Social Security Number
  
• Pass background check and be of good moral standing
  
• Complete 40 hours of education
  
• Pass State and National exam within 2 years of the date of completing education
  
• Obtain 3 complete candidate endorsements from individuals unrelated to the candidate
  
• All candidates who have met the licensing requirements will receive their license immediately following successful completion of the examination

Broker Pre Licensing Education Requirements

• Be 18 years or older
  
• Be a United States citizen or lawfully admitted alien
  
• Pass background check and be of good moral standing
  
• Obtain bond in the amount of $5,000.00
  
• Have been an actively licensed salesperson for 3 years and affiliated with a real estate broker for at least 3 years at a minimum of 25 hours per week
  
• Complete 40 hours of education
  
• Pass State and National exam within 2 years of the date of completing education
  
• Obtain 3 complete candidate endorsements from individuals unrelated to the candidate

Salesperson & Broker Continuing Education Requirements

• Renewal periods are every two years by December 31st
  
• Provide proof of completion of 12 credit hours of education to include the following topics:
  • Fair Housing
    
  • Equal Employment Opportunity
    
  • Accessibility for the Disabled
    
  • Agency Law
    
  • Environmental Issues in Real Estate
    
  • Zoning and Building Codes
    
  • Real Estate Appraisal and Financing
    
  • Property Tax Assessments and Valuation
    
  • Real Estate Board Regulations
