Applicants are required to schedule their real estate salesperson exam on the New York Occupational Licensing Management System, eAccessNY. In order to schedule your examination, you must have an account on eAccessNY. If you do not have an account, you should go to https://www.dos.ny.gov/licensing/eaccessny.html and click on “Create my Account.” The salesperson exam should be taken after completion of a required seventy-five (75) hour course and our optional Exam Prep course.

On the day of the examination you should arrive before your appointment. This extra time is for sign-in, identification, and familiarizing yourself with the examination process. If you arrive late, you may not be admitted to the examination site and you will forfeit your examination registration fee.
A form of specified government issued signature identification which must be photo-bearing is required to take the exam. Your identification must be current.
The written exam is multiple-choice. Applicants will be allowed 1 ½ hours to complete the exam.
There are 75 questions on the salesperson’s license exam and a passing score is seventy (70%) percent.
Exam results are reported as either passed or failed; you will not receive a numerical score. Exam results will be available online by utilizing your account in eAccessNY. The exam results will be available as soon as possible after they are received by the Exam Unit and scored. Results will not be given over the phone. Passed exam results are only valid for a period of two years. If you pass the exam, you should apply online for your salesperson license utilizing your account in eAccessNY.
If you do not pass, you can schedule another exam by utilizing your account in eAccessNY.
