Real Estate Salesperson Prelicensing Education Requirements

A. Be at least 18 years old
B. Provide certificates of completions for the following:

a. 45 hours or three college credits of Real Estate Principles
b. 45 hours or three college credits Real Estate Law (must include 18 hours of Nevada law)
c. Prelicensing education from another state may be accepted. Please see reciprocity document
d. Two fingerprint cards processed by a government or law enforcement agency within the last year
e. Pass the state and national exam within 12 months

Real Estate Broker/Salesperson Education Requirements

A. Be at least 18 years old
B. Must have been actively licensed as a full-time real estate broker or salesperson for two of the four years immediately preceding application
C. Complete the following 64 semester units of education (as of Jan 1, 2001):

a. Real Estate Law (including 18 hours of Nevada Real Estate Law—not waived by experience)—three semester hours of 45 credit hours
b. Real Estate Principles—three semester units or 45 credit hours
c. Real Estate Appraisal—three semester units or 45 credit hours
d. Real Estate Business or Economics—15 semester units
e. Broker Management Training—three semester units or 45 credit hours
f. Non-specified units can be in general studies from an accredited university or college—37 semester units
g. ALL total 64 credit hours

Real Estate Broker Education Requirements

A. Be at least 18 years old
B. Been actively licensed as a full-time salesperson for a least the last two of the four years preceding the application
C. Have completed all required education of:

a. 45 Hours Real Estate Principles
b. 45 hours Real Estate Law
c. 45 hours Real Estate Appraisal
d. 45 hours Broker Management Course
e. 15 college credits in other real estate related courses such as business, economics, management, accounting, finance, and marketing.

Real Estate Salesperson First Renewal Requirements

A. First-time licensees must complete 30 hours of continuing education within the first 12 months of licensure.
B. 30 hours must consist of:

a. 3 hours—Agency
b. 3 hours—Contracts
c. 3 hours—Ethics
d. 3 hours—Law and Legislation
e. 3 hours—Broker Management
f. 18 hours—general courses
g. At least 15 of the 30 hours must be taken through a live classroom setting

Real Estate Salesperson Continuing Education Requirements

A. Licensees must complete 24 hours of education every renewal period
B. Must include:

a. 3 hours—Agency
b. 3 hours—Contracts
c. 3 hours—Ethics
d. 3 hours—Law and Legislation
e. 12 hours—general courses

C. At least 12 of the 24 hours must be taken through a classroom setting

Real Estate Broker and Broker/Salesperson Continuing Education
