Real Estate Salesperson Prelicensing Education Requirements

A. Be at least 18 years old
B. Provide certificates of completions for the following:

a. Proof of pre-licensing education by certified transcripts or certificates. A total of 120 hours is required to include:
b. 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Principles
c. 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Law (must include 18 hours Nevada Law)
d. 15 hours or 1 college credit in contracts in real estate transactions to the extent allowed in the capacity of the licensee
e. 15 hours or 1 college credit in agency which must include 3 hours of foundation of relationship between broker and agents and 3 hours of risk reduction

C. Pre-licensing education from another state may be accepted. Please see reciprocity document
D. Two fingerprint cards processed by a government or law enforcement agency within the last year
E. Pass the state and national exam within 12 months

Real Estate Broker/Salesperson Education Requirements

A. Be at least 18 years old
B. Must have been actively licensed as a full-time real estate broker or salesperson for two of the four years immediately preceding application
C. Complete the following 64 semester units of education:

a. Proof of pre-licensing education by certified transcripts or certificates—64 semester college credits required

i. 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Principles or licensed experience
ii. 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Law or licensed experience (must include 18 hours Nevada Law provided by a NV school)
iii. 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Appraisal course or licensed experience
iv. 45 hours or 3 college credits Broker Management Course (Nevada specific course)
v. 15 college credits in real estate, business, economics or licensed experience
vi. 15 hours or 1 college credit in contracts in real estate transaction to the extent allowed in the capacity of the licensee
vii. 15 hours or 1 college credit in agency, which must include 3 hours of foundation of relationship between broker and agents and 3 hours of risk reduction
viii. 35 college-level units from an accredited college or licensed experience

Real Estate Broker Education Requirements

A. Be at least 18 years old
B. Been actively licensed as a full-time salesperson for a least the last two of the four years preceding the application
C. Have completed all required education of:

a. 45 Hours Real Estate Principles
b. 45 hours Real Estate Law
c. 45 hours Real Estate Appraisal
d. 45 hours Broker Management Course
e. 15 college credits in other real estate related courses such as business, economics, management, accounting, finance, and marketing.

Real Estate Salesperson First Renewal Requirements

A. First-time licensees must complete 30 hours of continuing education within the first 12 months of licensure.
B. 30 hours must consist of:

a. 3 hours—Agency
b. 3 hours—Contracts
c. 3 hours—Ethics
d. 3 hours—Law and Legislation
e. 3 hours—Broker Management
f. 18 hours—General courses
g. At least 15 of the 30 hours must be taken through a live classroom setting

Real Estate Broker/Salesperson First Renewal Requirements

A. First time licensees who qualify for 645.4442(2) are required to complete 36 hours of continuing education
B. Must include:

a. 3 hours—Agency
b. 6 hours—Contracts
c. 3 hours—Ethics
d. 3 hours—Law and Legislation
e. 3 hours—Risk Reduction
f. 6 hours—Broker Management
g. 12 hours—General courses (Business Broker permit holders must include the 3 hours of CE for permit renewal; Property Management permit holders must include 9 hours of CE for permit renewal.)

Real Estate Salesperson Continuing Education Requirements

A. Licensees must complete 36 hours of education every renewal period of two years from the date of issuance
B. Must include:

a. 3 hours—Agency
b. 6 hours—Contracts
c. 3 hours—Ethics
d. 3 hours—Law and Legislation
e. 3 hours—Risk Regulation
f. 18 hours of General (business Broker permit holders must include the 3 hours of CE for permit renewal)

C. At least 18 of the 36 hours must be taken through classroom/live instruction setting

Real Estate Broker and Broker/Salesperson Continuing Education

A. Licensees must complete 36 hours of education every renewal period of two years from the date of issuance

C. Candidates must bring two forms of current signature identification.
D. Candidates should arrive 30 minutes before appointment on exam day.
E. Scores for exam are given immediately following completion of the exam.
F. Must retake any failed portions of the exam within 12 months, otherwise must retake the entire exam
