Reciprocity: Maryland offers partial reciprocity in the following states: Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.

 

Steps to Real Estate License Reciprocity in Maryland:

  1. Request a certificate of full licensing history from the state where you were first licensed. The certificate must be dated within 120 days of your application submission.
  2. Submit your application with your licensing history certificate included. The Maryland Real Estate Commission will review your education and experience to determine if you meet the state requirements.
  3. Check your eligibility for waivers. Waivers for certain requirements may be granted, but only to applicants with an active license.

Military Portability:

  • Submit a request for an official letter of recognition to practice in Maryland without a license, provided all requirements are met
  • Must be an active duty military service member or service member’s spouse
  • Must reside in Maryland
  • Must hold an occupational license in good standing
  • Must have used the occupational license in the 2 years immediately preceding the order to relocate to Maryland
  • There is no fee for this application
