New York Licensing Information, Reciprocity, and Portability

Military Portability

  • Request a military spouse waiver
    • Complete the form 
    • Submit license application and fee
      • Include the following documentation:
        • Copy of United States Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege Card or Dependent Identification Card
        • Copy of military orders indicating relocation to New York State
        • Proof of current licensure with a certification effective within one year of the New York State license application
        • If licensed for at least 1 year but less than 2, provide evidence (e.g., professional letters of reference) demonstrating your competency and trustworthiness as a real estate broker or salesperson
