Reciprocity: Kentucky offers reciprocal agreements with the following states:
- Florida, Illinois, Ohio, and Tennessee
- Steps to Real Estate License Reciprocity in Kentucky:
- Step 1: Pass the Kentucky 40-hour reciprocal law course
- Step 2: Submit fingerprints
- Step 3: Provide proof of E&O coverage
- Florida:
- Sales Associate: 1 year as a licensed sales associate
- Broker: 2 years as a licensed broker
- Illinois:
- Sales Associate: 1 year as a broker
- Broker: 2 years as a managing broker or eligibility for a managing broker’s license
- Ohio:
- Sales Associate: 1 year as a licensed sales associate
- Broker: 2 years as a licensed broker
- Tennessee:
- Sales Associate: 1 year as an associate broker
- Broker: 3 years as a licensed broker
Military Portability:
- State agencies will issue licenses to military spouses in good standing within 30 days of completing an application, unless significant gaps in prior education or training pose a health or safety risk
- Temporary or regular licenses will also be issued within 30 days
- Temporary licenses are valid for 6 months and cannot be renewed
- Some licensing fees may be waived or reduced
