Reciprocity
Illinois offers reciprocity with the following states: Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Indiana (brokers only), Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Kentucky
Steps to Real Estate License Reciprocity in Illinois
- Provide a certificate of licensure. The current license must be in good standing.
- Complete the Reciprocal Application and pay the licensing fee.
- Pass the state portion of the reciprocal state’s licensing exam.
Military Portability
- Ensure you or your spouse have current Active-Duty Permanent Change of Stations (PCS) orders to a station in Illinois
- PCS orders dated more than 1 year ago must be accompanied by a letter signed by the commanding officer verifying you or your spouse are still stationed in Illinois
- You must have been actively licensed within the prior 2 years, from the date of submission of your application, in the profession for which you are now applying
- Submit a licensure certification showing good standing from all jurisdictions where you are licensed, including those where you have been practicing in the prior 2 years
- Show proof of service as indicated in Part I of the application
