Who should enroll in the BAP designation program?

This program is ideal for residential real estate agents who are expecting to represent a buyer in a real estate purchase transaction. It is also beneficial to managers of agents who are representing buyers in residential transactions. 

How long do I have to complete this professional development course?

Students will have 6 months from the date they are provided online access to complete the course. 

What are the requirements to obtain a BAP designation digital badge?
  1. Complete the Education: You must attend the Live Online class sessions if you selected the Live Online Course. 

  2. Pass the Examination: You must pass the examination within the Course that will assess your knowledge of a Buyer’s Agent value to homebuyers. After you complete the education and pass the examination, you will be ready to proceed to Step 3. 

  3. Submit the Online Application for the Designation within 6 Months of completing the education.

Once I complete the course, can I begin using the designation?
After a student successfully completes the requirements of the professional designation program, they are notified via email (typically within 48 hours of course completion) to apply for authorization to use the designation. Continued use of the designation is subject to compliance with ongoing renewal requirements.

 

What is the renewal requirement for the BAP designation digital badge?

All BAP™ designation holders are responsible for completing 4 credit hours of continuing education in any combination of the following topics every 2 years:

  • Ethics
  • Buyer representation
  • Consumer protection
  • Negotiation
  • Financing
  • Property valuation

As part of the renewal process, designees must have, within the previous two-year period, closed four real estate sales transactions in which the designee represented the buyer in the transaction.
