Salesperson Pre-licensing Education Requirements

  1. Be at least 18 years old
  2. Be a resident of Mississippi
  3. Complete 60 hours of real estate education
  4. Complete and pass background check
  5. Provide fingerprints to the state
  6. Pass the state and national exam

 

Broker Pre-licensing Education Requirements 

Must have held a real estate salesperson license for the last 12 months prior to applying: http://www.mrec.ms.gov/documents/MREC_LicenseRequirements-Interpretation07-2020.pdf ***Amended 07.01.2020***

  1. Be at least 21 years or older
  2. Be a resident of Mississippi
  3. Have held a real estate salesperson license for the last 12 months prior to applying
  4. Completed 120 hours of education
  5. Passed the state and national broker’s exam

 

Salesperson Post-licensing Education Requirements

  1. First renewals are required within 12 months of receiving temporary salesperson’s license.
  2. Pursuant with ruling 73-35-14.5, salepersons must complete a 30-hour post-licensing course.

 

Salesperson & Broker Continuing Education Requirements

  1. Per renewal period (every two years), applicants must complete 16 hours of education.
  2. Any education earned in the last 3 months of licensure that exceeds 16 hours can be carried over and credited to the next year with a maximum of 6 credit hours.
