Requirements to Obtain Your New Mexico Associate Broker License
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. Register for and complete 90 hours of required education:
In order to apply for the New Mexico Real Estate License Exam, the state requires you to complete 90 hours of New Mexico Real Estate Commission-approved real estate courses. Brightwood offers four education options that fulfill the 90-hour requirement. Your courses are offered by Brightwood College | San Antonio (Ingram).

3. Take the New Mexico Associate Broker Licensing Exam
Applicant must pass both the state and national portions of the exam with a minimum score of 75. Applicants must pay a non-refundable fee not to exceed $95.
4. Complete your fingerprinting and obtain Errors and Omissions Insurance
All persons applying for a New Mexico real estate license must submit to the commission, along with their application, proof that they have completed a live fingerprint scan. You must register at https://www.cogentid.com/index.htm before you complete the live fingerprint scan for matching with a national arrest record database. Fingerprinting shall be done no earlier than 21 days prior to submitting documents to apply for your license. 5. Apply for your Associate Broker License
Upon passing both portions of the exam, you have 6 months to apply for your New Mexico Associate Broker’s License, or you will be required to take the exam again.
