Requirements to Obtain Your Minnesota Real Estate License
To earn your real estate license in Minnesota, you must be at least 18 years of age, complete Prelicensing Course 1 and complete the state licensing exam, pass two additional courses, and apply for your license. While the process to become a real estate agent is similar in most states, each state has unique steps that must be adhered to. The seven steps to becoming a Minnesota real estate agent are as follows:
Step 1: Must be at Least 18 Years of Age
In addition to being at least 18 years of age, you must also have legal US residency.
Step 2: Register for Course I. You must complete Course I before taking the exam.
There are three 30-hour courses (Course I, II, lll), but only Course I needs to be completed before the exam. We offer four education options that fulfill the 90-hour requirement.
