COVID 19 Updates

COVID 19 Updates

Last Updated: June 9, 2020

We’re keeping an eye on the COVID-19 situation and will update existing and prospective students as more information becomes available, and we will continue to update these FAQs.

FAQs

Are in-person classes canceled?

Kaplan's top priorities are the health and safety of employees, students, customers, and the community while continuing to provide the highest quality educational programs and support under any circumstances. As you are aware, things in our communities continue to change rapidly relative to COVID-19. In response, we’ve made the decision to cancel all live, in-person classes indefinitely. We will continually monitor and adapt to the changing conditions surrounding COVID-19. You will be notified when these changes occur.

If you have registered for a live, in-person class, we are notifying all customers and whenever possible, we will provide you with other options, such as online, self study, or virtual live online classes to ensure you receive the education and support you need from Kaplan. In many cases, we can help you find an alternative online option so you can continue with your educational program. If that is not an option, we will reschedule once we have re-established live, in-person classes at your location.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact us at 800.636.9517 so that we can help you make the right decision for your needs.

Please remember, even if you are feeling a little unwell, please stay home. Staying home when sick is the best way to prevent the spread of germs. We will work with you to make up a class or provide other online or self study options so you can complete your education successfully.

What if my company or association is hosting a class at my location?

If your company, society, or association has arranged for a Kaplan program at your location, any decisions regarding changes to the delivery of the program will be made jointly between Kaplan and your organization.

Kaplan or your employer will notify students via email of any program changes at your location. Feel free to contact your company, association, society, or other representative for further details.

Is Kaplan offering any free resources to workers laid-off or furloughed due to the coronavirus pandemic?

Yes, we are offering free online education and skills development courses to individuals who have been furloughed or laid off from their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have created a self-enrollment portal that will permit individuals to choose from a variety of online training courses that aim to help people develop and hone both personal and career skills. There are more than 30 courses available, including:

  • Interviewing skills, resume writing, and salary negotiation;
  • Working remote and managing remote teams;
  • Decision-making techniques and critical thinking skills;
  • Fundamentals of data and analytics;
  • Personal financial planning basics;
  • Introduction to sustainable investments;
  • Financial basics for kids.

Individuals can access the portal directly through https://professionalskillsfitness.kaplan.com/.

What are my options if I want to minimize my contact with others?

Whenever possible, we have options for live online and / or self-paced online self-study options. As the need arises, we will proactively move education experiences to online options
