Virginia’s continuing education requirements depend on your level of licensure. If you are a Virginia Real Estate Appraiser Trainee, you do not have to meet the state’s continuing education requirements until your second licensing term. All appraisers licensed beyond the level of trainee must complete 28 hours of continuing education during each 2-year licensing term, including seven hours of coursework covering the National Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
