Focused on familiarizing students with how to find and use information from the USPAP document.

This course is intended for those who are new to the appraisal profession with minimal knowledge of the appraisal process. The new 2018–2019 edition focuses on the requirements for ethical behavior and competent performance by appraisers. The course emphasizes the appraiser’s roles and responsibilities with specific emphasis impartiality. To facilitate a dynamic learning experience, the course uses lecture, illustrations and interactive case studies.  In addition, review exercises are included at the end of each unit to prepare students for the final exam. Each student will be issued a USPAP workbook and a full copy of the 2018–2019 edition of USPAP that includes USPAP Advisory Opinions and USPAP Frequently Asked Questions. Students must bring both books to each day of class. A passing grade on the final exam is required to receive the certificate of completion.

This course has been approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce for appraisal prelicense education.
