As a Beginning Appraiser, you will be able to help perform appraisals under a supervising Certified Appraiser. You will be allowed to appraise properties that your supervisor is currently licensed and qualified to appraise.
To become an appraiser in Colorado, the first step is to complete 75 creditable class hours of state-approved education. At this level, there is neither an exam nor a license issued. While the Beginning Appraiser is free to begin working under the direct supervision of a Certified Appraiser at any time in the process, it is quite likely that most Supervisors will either want their trainees to have completed their first 75-hours of education or to be currently enrolled in the courses. If you want more information on the requirements, visit our Colorado State Appraisal Licensing Requirements page.
